Beautiful pair of vintage Hans J. Wegner CH24 “Wishbone” chairs in ebonized oak and woven paperboard seats. Very good vintage condition the seats have recently been re-woven with period correct pattern and weaving. Very very slight wear to edge of one of the backrests and on leg, otherwise very good. Jean, named after Eileen Gray‘s intimate friend of many years, the architect Jean Badovici, stood in various models in their summer villa E 1027. “Every room has at its disposal one of these tables”, wrote Eileen Gray, “that at the same time can serve as a desk. For entertaining one moves all the pieces together, unfolds them and what follows is a small dining table, light yet absolutely stable. Frame chrome-plated tubular steel. First Generation Eames Evans Birch plywood LCW, ca. 1949. Beautiful example of a rare and collectable first generation Charles Eames for Evans Birch Plywood LCW (lounge chair wood). This first generation is in very good original condition, with original shock mounts and the original 5-2-5 screw pattern that shows the authenticity of this piece. The paper Evans label is missing, however you can clearly see the outline of the original label shape as well as the stamped E9 under the seat.
