Pair of armchairs by John Van Koert for Troy Sunshade, ca. 1955 for their Cymbal line. Beautiful hollywood regency style these chairs were designed for use outdoors as well as indoors and were manufactured for use on the SS United States in the 50’s and 60’s. Gorgeous patinated aluminum frames with the original vinyl upholstery. Exceedingly rare and elegant. Measure 22″ W x 20″ D x 31″ H x 18″ seat height.
Chrome and enameled metal floor lamp by Robert Sonneman, ca. 1970. Very good original condition with original wiring. Chrome is in excellent condition with no rust or pitting. Orange enameled metal shade is also very good with only slight wear as shown. Base is solid iron and both the base and shade articulate 360 degrees for maximum lighting condition. Don Shoemaker ‘Swinger’ sling chair and ottoman, ca. 1965. Original handmade and signed exotic wood ‘swinger’ chair by Don Shoemaker with matching ottoman. This particular model is the more rare version with smaller armrests. As seen in this original catalog, this chair and ottoman are handmade and designed to hold together with pins rather than nails. Beautiful organic and sculptural design, the leather on this chair is original and in good condition with only slight wear. Retains all of the original hardware and markings. A beautiful example of Mexican Modernism made in Shoemaker’s own workshop, Senal S.A.
